Christmas Decoration クリスマスの飾り付け

It is always so nice to see something inherited within a family.  I like these handmade Chrismas decorations.  I learned that MyD made these decorations for his mother, with the help of his father.  MyD's sister told me that their mother always wanted to have Christmas decorations like these. MyD's mother must have been so happy to have this present.  Now, these decorations are handed over to MyD's daughter. These are so cute. 

家族代々受け継がれ大切にしているものがあるってとてもいいですね。このクリスマスデコレーションも２世代受け継がれたものだそうです。実は、MyDのお母さんがクリスマスの飾りが欲しいといつも言っていたので、MyDとお父さんと二人で作ったものだそうです。そんな話をMyDの妹さんにしてもらいました。嬉しそうなお母さんの顔が目に浮かびます。それが、今、MyDの娘さんの庭で飾られています。それを見て、MyDの妹さんも懐かしく思いで話をしてくれました。電飾のものもいいですが、こんな手作りの飾り付けは家族への愛情がこもっていていいですね。

We visited a street called Via Amistoso in Mission Viejo, California.  There were so many impressively lit houses for Christmas.  They seem to have an annual contest for Holiday lighting.  I did see beautiful lighting in Hong Kong.  But these were on commercial buildings.  On the other hand, the lighting on Via Amitoso was for a residential area.  They were so beautiful. 

カリフォルニアのミッションビエホという町にクリスマスの飾り付けで有名な通りがある。ビアアミストソという住宅街だ。香港のクリスマスの飾り付けは有名だが、すべて、ビジネスビルの飾り付けだ。住宅街でこんなに派手に飾り付けされているのを見たのは初めてだ。ウエブで調べてみると、飾り付けコンテストが年間行事であるようだ。とっても綺麗でした。
